The company has also clarified its policy for monetizing clips, whereby videos that have already been uploaded to other platforms will not be eligible for monetization, as well as those created by editing movie or song clips. Watched videos will also not be monetized.


To monetize their channel, creators must have 4,000 hours of watch time within 365 days or 10 million views across all YouTube shorts within 90 days.
